Summary:
Encourage academic progress in conjunction with the faculty and University of student athletes toward graduation.. - Teach the mechanics and techniques of men's basketball to team members..- Coach student-athletes, analyze their performance, and instruct them in areas of deficiency..- Develop the men's basketball team for competition and oversee daily practice of student-athletes..- Promote the University, the Athletic Department and the men's basketball program through the Athletics Communications Office..- Recruit talented student-athletes for the men's basketball program..- Cooperate with Student Athlete Support Services for the benefit of student-athletes..- Maintain responsibility for administrative duties pertaining to the men's basketball program..- Supervise the conduct of assistant coaches and staff, and their activities, including compliance with the Atlantic 10 Conference ("A-1O") and National Collegiate Athletic Association ("NCAA") regulations, and provide annual evaluations thereof; maintain responsibility for the fiscal and budgetary functions associated with the men's basketball program.. - Conduct yourself and the men's basketball program in accordance with the Constitution and Bylaws of the A-10 and NCAA..- Abide by all applicable Board of Visitors' policies and University rules and regulations..- Perform other duties as head coach reasonably related to the improvement of the men's basketball program as may be assigned by the Director of Athletics or your sport supervisor..- Coordinate scheduling of men's basketball games in consultation with and subject to the approval of the sport supervisor and Director of Athletics..- Promote execution of the Athletic Department'

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum hiring standards include:
Bachelor's degree. Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at
Knowledge and experience with NCAA Division I rules and regulations
Previous coaching experience in the sport of men's basketball at the NCAA Division I level
A valid driver's license recognized by VA is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred hiring standards include:
Professional and/or collegiate NCAA Division I playing experience preferred
Head coaching experience preferred.
An advanced degree or training and work experience at a level that equates to an advanced degree
Typical Licensure
Must have First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications or achieve certifications within 30 days of hire.
