Job Description:
We are seeking a COBOL Developer with expertise in COBOL programming and experience working with STRATUS systems. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, be familiar with legacy system development, and be able to optimize and maintain COBOL-based applications.
Key Responsibilities:
COBOL Programming & Development
- Write, maintain, and optimize COBOL code for legacy applications.
- Develop and troubleshoot COBOL-based business logic and workflows.
- Modify existing COBOL code to improve performance, ensure scalability, and integrate with modern systems.
STRATUS Systems Expertise
- Work with STRATUS systems, ensuring that COBOL applications run effectively on this platform.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to COBOL code execution on STRATUS systems.
- Provide guidance and support on STRATUS-specific configurations and issues.
System Maintenance & Optimization
- Conduct regular maintenance of existing COBOL systems, identifying areas for improvement.
- Optimize legacy code for better performance and efficiency.
- Test and ensure code is compatible with current systems and user requirements.
Collaboration & Troubleshooting
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand system requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Resolve technical issues and troubleshoot system errors related to COBOL and STRATUS environments.
- Ensure smooth integration of legacy COBOL systems with modern technologies when required.
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
- Proven experience in COBOL programming and maintenance.
- Solid experience working with STRATUS systems.
- Experience in troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing COBOL-based applications.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of COBOL and its applications in legacy systems.
- Familiarity with STRATUS systems and their operational aspects.
- Experience with system maintenance, code optimization, and debugging.
