What to Expect
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven General Superintendent to oversee and manage construction projects in and around an active manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the project, including safety, scheduling, quality control, and cost management, are executed efficiently and in compliance with industry regulations. The General Superintendent will lead field operations, coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders, and maintain a strong focus on minimizing disruption to ongoing manufacturing operations. Specific skill sets include but are not limited to : roofing, concrete, pavement, excavation, architectural finished, basic electrical, controls, fire suppression, fire alarm, structural steel, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
What You'll Do
- Oversee and manage all phases of construction projects within and around an active manufacturing facility, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to quality standards
- Coordinate with construction managers, engineers, subcontractors, and facility personnel to align construction activities with manufacturing operations, and facilitate communication between all project stakeholders
- Develop and enforce work plans, project schedules, and sequencing to optimize efficiency, reduce downtime, and proactively resolve construction challenges, clashes, and conflicts
- Enforce and maintain strict safety protocols, ensuring compliance with OSHA, local building codes, company safety policies, and environmental regulations
- Conduct regular safety meetings, job site inspections, and audits to identify hazards and mitigate risks, ensuring adherence to facility-specific safety procedures
- Supervise and mentor superintendents, foremen, and field personnel, providing clear direction, leadership, and guidance on best practices for work execution in a manufacturing environment
- Monitor work progress, conduct quality inspections, ensure adherence to project specifications and contract requirements, and maintain accurate project documentation including daily reports, change orders, and progress updates
