Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Capacity Planning Engineer with 8 12 years of expertise in capacity planning, IT infrastructure design, and performance optimization for data centers and office facilities. The ideal candidate will manage the end-to-end capacity forecasting and provide technical guidance to ensure infrastructure solutions meet business needs. This role requires expertise in planning, deployment, and maintenance of IT infrastructure with proficiency in a variety of tools and technologies.

Scope of Work:

• Responsible for capacity planning, design, evaluation, installation, deployment, and maintenance of IT infrastructure for data centers and office facilities.
• Conduct capacity forecasting for processors, coupling facilities, DASD, virtual tape, and physical tape in a complex batch processing environment.
• Collaborate with internal teams to design infrastructure solutions that align with business requirements and performance specifications.
• Manage the delivery of solutions to engineering and operations teams as an individual contributor or project lead, depending on project requirements.
• Implement infrastructure solutions while adhering to operations, security, and procedural models.
• Operate in complex, highly secure, and highly available environments while interacting with domain experts.
• Develop and integrate best practices into project processes and methodologies.
• Build and position solutions, communicate plans, and achieve alignment among stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to develop solutions that can be offered as customer services.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 8 12 years of relevant work experience in IT infrastructure, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
• Skills and Tools:
• CA-OPTIMIZER/II, CA-PMO Runtime Performance Optimizer, Application Performance Analyzer, Omegamon Performance Tool, IAM, MXGSAS/BASIC, Boxscore.
• CA-MIC Message Sharing (CA-MIM), CA-MII Data Sharing (CA-MIM), CA-SMR (SYSLOG Manage/Retrieval).
• CA-TPX Session Management Extended Package, ACIF, SASF Event Action (Change Action), SYNCSORT for z/OS.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide capacity forecasting for processors, coupling facilities, DASD, virtual tape, and physical tape across multiple geographies.
• Drive architecture roadmaps, reference architecture, and standardization efforts.
• Architect complex end-to-end solutions across distributed, host, and business intelligence environments.
• Offer technical guidance to ensure infrastructure solutions meet business and performance requirements.
• Lead and deliver infrastructure solutions to engineering and operations teams.
• Develop and implement solutions based on business needs while maintaining operational security and availability.
• Incorporate best practices and approaches into methodologies to ensure high-quality project outcomes.
• Align solutions with stakeholders to gain buy-in and ensure successful implementation.
