Job Description
We are seeking skilled mechanics with advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities to join our team as Pre-Assessment Agents - Level 3 Automotive Software Product Support. If you are the mechanic in the shop who solves the impossible and are looking for a break from shop life, this opportunity is for you. In this role, you will leverage your skills to provide direct support to client dealerships for diagnostic software and hardware issues related to vehicle modules and systems. This position offers a rewarding chance to transition to an office role while maintaining and utilizing your technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support and Diagnostics
- Provide direct support to dealerships, addressing diagnostic software and hardware issues for vehicle modules and systems through the Technical Assistance Center (GTAC).
- Offer solutions to technicians via phone, email, and the GTAC system, handling inquiries with accuracy and efficiency.
- Use remote diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and resolve advanced vehicle system faults.
Issue Resolution and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company policies while managing all open requests, escalations, and closure of tasks.
- Review and validate Technical Service Requests (TSRs) from dealerships, incorporating historical issue data from client systems.
- Escalate unresolved issues professionally to achieve SLA targets.
Knowledge Development and Training
- Gain proficiency in automotive software and related in-scope hardware systems.
- Stay updated on new vehicle technologies, software releases, and diagnostic tools.
- Provide training and guidance to dealer technicians on software updates, module integration, and diagnostic best practices.
Documentation and Communication
- Maintain thorough documentation of contact records, troubleshooting steps, and solutions for reference.
- Communicate effectively to ensure timely and frictionless issue closure for dealership technicians.
Qualifications
Education and Certification
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred Certifications:
- ASE Electrical
- ASE Gasoline Engines
- ASE Diesel Engines
- ASE L2
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience as an automotive technician with strong expertise in software troubleshooting.
- Background working in OEM or Tier 2/3 technical support

12 VDC circuits, CAN networks, troubleshooting electrical faults, multimeter, power-probe, oscilloscope, scan tools/laptops, wiring diagrams, repair manuals, DTC hierarchy, live data, PIDs, remote support tools, cloud-based diagnostics platforms, Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, verbal and written communication.
