Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Backend Developer with 4-8 years of experience to join our team. This role involves building and maintaining scalable, high-performance backend systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment. As part of the capital markets domain, the developer will work closely with traders, analysts, and technology teams to deliver innovative solutions enhancing trading, data, and risk management capabilities. This onsite position requires attendance for a face-to-face interview.
Key Responsibilities
Backend Development
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and services using Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
- Build and optimize microservices architectures for high-volume, low-latency systems.
Collaboration and Feature Delivery
- Collaborate with product managers, front-end developers, and stakeholders to deliver end-to-end features.
- Integrate external systems such as trading platforms, market data providers, and databases.
System Optimization
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, ensuring systems are reliable, scalable, and secure.
- Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and resolve system failures effectively.
Agile Practices
- Work in an Agile/Scrum environment, participating in sprints, code reviews, and team meetings.
System Design and Testing
- Apply best practices in system design, testing, and deployment to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Utilize CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for streamlined deployments.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated with advancements in Java, backend technologies, and capital markets to drive continuous product improvement.
Qualifications
Experience
- 4-8 years of hands-on experience in Java backend development with a focus on high-performance, scalable systems.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and related backend technologies.
- Experience with microservices architecture and cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, SOAP, and messaging technologies like Kafka or ActiveMQ.
- Unit and integration testing experience using frameworks like JUnit or TestNG.
Domain Expertise
- Prior experience in the capital markets or financial services domain is required.
- Knowledge of trading systems, financial instruments, and market data flows is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with containerization tools like Docker or Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Apache Kafka or other messaging systems.
- Exposure to big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and financial data processing.
