Position: DB2 Database Administrator
Location: Clayton, MO (Onsite)
Mode of Hire: Contract
Job Description:
· Knowledge on core concepts of DB2 LUW. L2 L32
· Extensive experience with planning, documenting and performing upgrades and migration, setting up new database environments.
· Experience in problem analysis and troubleshooting database related issues.
· Provide performance tuning support to development teams for resolving issues with space usage, stored procedures, SQL Tuning and application monitoring.
· Analyze and tune SQL statements and indexes; make performance recommendations to development teams.
· Understand metadata, metrics, trending, and automation.
· Advanced scripting skills required.
· Advise developers for best practice, rollout implementation support.
· Work with vendor for tuning recommendations.
· Implement fixpacks and security patches when required.
· Participate in disaster recovery exercises.
· Knowledge on DB2 HADR, HACMP. Qreplication knowledge is preffered.
· Monitor production databases and dbm settings, adjusting for optimal performance and throughput.
· Configure DB2 Connect Server and Client, and install ODBC drivers.
· To adhere to quality standards, regulatory requirements and company policies
· To ensure positive customer experience and CSAT through First Call Resolution and minimum rejected resolutions / Reopen Cases
· To participate or contribute on EN business in creation of proposals to drive Service improvement plans.
· To independently resolve tickets & esnure that the agreed SLA of ticket volume and time are met for the team.
· To provide support for on call escalations /L3 level support and doing incident & problem management
· Work on value adding activities such Knowledge base update & management, Training freshers, coaching analysts & conducting interviews/participation in hiring drives.
