What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Health Technician position at VDCI?
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Mosquito Control Specialist to join our team at VDCI. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental health, pest management, or a related field, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect control zones for potential mosquito breeding habitats and detect mosquito larvae
- Implement effective control techniques, such as source reduction, biological control, and chemical control
- Maintain monitoring devices for accessing mosquito populations
- Record all findings and control activities on log sheets and GPS units, and enter data into VDCI's database as required
- Ensure thorough familiarity with applicable chemical labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and handle/apply chemicals according to label specifications
- Follow proper safety and spill procedures at all times, and use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) regularly
