Job Summary
Work under the direction of the Senior Level Buyer and is responsible for purchasing specific commodities which are standard to moderately complex to support production and related operating departments.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
This position may involve knowledge of confidential information. Such information will be handled with the utmost discretion.
Responsibilities
Obtain competitive bids from established and reliable sources.
Analyze supplier operations to identify factors that affect price and determine lowest cost, consistent with quality, reliability and ability to meet required schedules.
Perform standard price negotiations.
Recommend and/or select appropriate suppliers.
Use automated information systems to produce and track purchase orders and related documentation.
Monitor schedule and delivery dates.
Resolve issues related to quantity, quality, delivery, and invoicing.
Inform senior buyer(s) of any issues, as necessary.
Ensure adequate documentation is available to provide the necessary support for government audits.
Maintain effective liaison with suppliers and necessary company operating departments to ensure adequate flow of information concerning progress of materials, anticipated delivery schedules, etc.
Identify problem areas; recommend corrective action.
Assist with all aspects of the purchasing process, including ordering, purchasing, supplier management, shipping, and inventory.
Purchase materials and equipment, develop vendor agreements, and establish relationships.
Develop and maintain a database of suppliers, vendors, and contractors.

Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the senior team buyer, supervisor or manager, in addition to the essential functions listed above.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to interpret aircraft blueprints and specifications.
Strong oral and written communication skills. Communicate effectively with employees and customers.
Ability to conduct extensive research and the ability to negotiate contracts with suppliers, manage an inventory, evaluate quality goods and stay within the set budget.
Ability to perform basic and more complicated mathematic fundamentals – add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to use PC computers and have command of Microsoft software – Word and Excel, PowerPoint, and others as needed. Use of company computer systems (as trained).
Positive customer service and ability to work with others in a team setting. Regularly works effectively, and relates well, with others including superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside of the company. Exhibits a consistent professional manner in all situations.
Strong motivation and self-starting initiative are required.
Ability to operate effectively in a time-sensitive environment in order to meet deadlines.
Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to apply logic in problem solving for both internal and external customers.
Duties require judgment to work independently toward general results, devising new methods, modifying or adapting standard procedures to meet new conditions, making decisions guided by precedent and based on company policies.

Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or other related field preferred
Experience: 1-3 years of related procurement experience; Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an aircraft manufacturing environment.
Command of computer skills is required:
a. Microsoft Office software used by the company and relevant for the job position.
b. All related company systems – will be trained in these systems.

Work Authorization
Must qualify as a U.S. Person as defined by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) in order
to access export-controlled technology.
General: Maintain personal productivity and quality standards as determined by supervision. Follow standard departmental/company practices and procedures as outlined by management. Maintain area in a clean and orderly condition.
