What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Director, Sales, Charter position at VECIMA TECHNOLOGY INC?
Position Summary:
The Senior Director, Sales, Charter is an individual contributor role dedicated to achieving maximum sales potential and profitability objectives for Vecima. This will be accomplished by working alongside our team of experienced sales professionals. Specific Target Accounts include Tier 1 and Tier 2 Cable operators within the US.
The successful incumbent will work remotely from their home office in the United States and will travel throughout the designated region to carry out the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
This position will report to the VP, Sales.
The Senior Director will be responsible for successfully leading solution architects, design engineers, service personnel, and product management through the customer’s sales cycle.
Duties & Responsibilities to include (but not limited to):
- Utilization of strategic selling methodology with exceptional talent closing and negotiating business
- Management of a sales pipeline and forecasting
- Negotiate at senior levels with maturity and credibility
- Develop and manage strategic corporate accounts and relationships
- Provide regular feedback to management on the status of the market, technology, the customer base, and general business activity
- Ensure customers receive prompt responses and feedback
- Build Vecima brand recognition
- Revenue attainment and management of forward-looking sales forecast
- Provide Vecima visibility into market trend, customer requirements, and ongoing activity
- Facilitate open, clear, concise communication with customers and Vecima team members
Position Requirements:
- Demonstrates knowledge and confidence navigating complex sales cycles
- Independent and highly motivated with a proven track record of achieving sales targets
- Comfortable selling to large Tier 1 and Tier 2 companies in the cable industry
- Strong understanding of cable technologies with emphasis around distributed access architectures, DOCSIS, PON, and traditional Hybrid Fiber Coax Networks
- Proven track record targeting and capturing new business
- Dynamic presentation capabilities and strength capturing or conveying technical information
- Strategic thinker with good analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Results focused and accountable
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-starter capable of operating effectively from remote locations
- Able and willing to travel up to 50% as well as the flexibility to accommodate clients in different time zones
- Exceptional talent negotiating and closing deals
- Understands how to identify, quality, and quantify prospect opportunities
- Self-motivated and comfortable problem-solving with limited background information
- Capable of managing, designing, and implementing a strategic initiative
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in a relevant technical field preferred (Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Sciences, Engineering, Physics)
- 7 or more years of successful sales experience in selling highly technical products
- Experience working in any of the following industries: cable, telecom, satellite and other high technology markets
- Experience successfully managing sales distribution channels
- Experience with video and DOCSIS technologies
- Experience with Video Delivery including Content Delivery Networks
- Experience with Data Infrastructure including Distributed Access Architectures (Remote-PHY, R-MACPHY and PON)
- Strong customer facing experience
- Experience selling at a Director and VP level is highly desirable
