Summary:
Vecta Industrial Cleaning Company is seeking a dedicated and skilled Spill Response and Transformer Management Technician. In this vital role, you will be responsible for responding to emergency spill incidents and managing the maintenance and servicing of transformers. Your expertise in handling hazardous materials, quick decision-making in emergency situations, and knowledge of transformer systems will be key to ensuring the safety and compliance of our operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Emergency Spill Response:
- Respond promptly to emergency spill incidents involving hazardous materials or contaminants.
- Assess the situation quickly and implement appropriate spill response strategies to minimize environmental impact.
- Utilize various equipment and techniques for spill containment, recovery, and cleanup.
- Coordinate with emergency services and other relevant authorities as required.
- Transformer Management:
- Conduct regular inspections, maintenance, and servicing of transformers to ensure they are operating safely and efficiently.
- Identify and diagnose issues with transformer systems, performing repairs or recommending further action as necessary.
- Manage the safe handling and disposal of transformer oils and other potentially hazardous materials.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and environmental regulations.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear during spill response and transformer management tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of spill incidents, transformer maintenance, and compliance activities.
- Training and Preparedness:
- Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on the latest spill response techniques and transformer management best practices.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of emergency response plans and procedures.
- Educate and train other staff members on spill response protocols and transformer safety.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and external stakeholders during emergency responses and routine transformer management activities.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on spill incidents, response measures, and transformer maintenance activities.
- Provide recommendations for improvements in spill response strategies and transformer management practices.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in spill response, environmental services, or transformer maintenance.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and safety standards related to hazardous materials and electrical equipment.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations and make decisions quickly.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good physical condition and ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Willingness to work in various conditions, including adverse weather and potentially hazardous environments.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to different sites as required.
