Our government client is looking for a Business/Data Analyst on a hybrid 6 months renewable contract role in Richmond VA.
Position – Business/Data Analyst
only 1 day a week onsite.
Job Description
The agency needs a Business Data Analyst to review data source systems (which there are multiple) and communicate the details of the findings on each system.
The Business Data Analyst will be utilized to review and assess the existing data sources within the agency and identify threats to data validity and reliability. The data systems analyst will work with the Division of Developmental Services, the Division of Clinical and Quality Management, the Division of Administration, and stakeholders to identify and develop mitigating actions that when implemented will result in eliminating or significantly reducing the adverse impact of identified threats to data validity and reliability. Thus, increasing the ability of the department to attest to the reliability of the data source and the validity and reliability of the data it produces. Current data exists in various data source systems and repositories.
As part of the threat assessment process the selected candidate will review data source training materials; conduct subject matter expert and stakeholder interviews; shadow data source users; conduct source system table analysis, review, synthesize and prioritize all threats; develop and present actionable recommendations to mitigate identified threats; and develop a mechanism to track and report progress toward implementation of actionable recommendations. Threats to data security will not be assessed as part of this process.
The ideal candidate will have experience with MS Excel spreadsheets, Power Query and data warehouse capabilities; experience in analyzing system problems, designing and testing standards and solutions, evaluating procedures and processes; experience working with structured and unstructured data and strong analytical, interpersonal, and project management skills. The candidate must be able to liaise between management, program personnel, and the IT office and must be able to explain complex issues in a way that they all understand
