Engineer (Senior)

Job Summary:

Supports and/or leads engineering efforts, develops and implements engineering procedures and controls, and identifies and resolves complex problems. Provides highly-skilled expertise in a relevant specialized engineering discipline. Independently applies sound engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate systems, subsystems, and/or components. Develops engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation. Typically works on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program.

Education and Experience:

• BA/BS degree in an Engineering Discipline
• Over 10 years of experience 

Essential Duties: 

• Support and/or lead engineering efforts to perform overall technical work, planning, development of technical team structure and team composition alternatives, systems requirements management, configuration baseline management, risk management, and technical performance measurement and tracking across a broad spectrum of scientific and engineering disciplines to achieve an integrated, balanced total system that meets cost, schedule, and performance objectives in Naval Aviation’s unique operating environment over the entire life cycle.
• Develop and implement engineering procedures and controls to promote innovation and speed to the fleet.

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

• Ability to oversee efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job
• Ability to perform all functional duties independently.
