What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr Data Management Specialist position at Vector CSP?
Overview:
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) provides comprehensive and dedicated support to the Navy of research, development, test and evaluation, analysis, systems engineering, integration and certification of complex naval warfare systems and fleet support. Additional support for professional and operational support services is required as NSWCDD continues to provide the military with testing and certification by utilizing its Potomac River Test Range in Dahlgren, VA and provides fleet support at NSWCDD Dam Neck which is located in Virginia Beach, VA.
Job Summary:
Support day-to-day operations at NSWCDD by developing documentation and data management systems.
Education and Experience:
- Four (4) years of experience in developing and maintaining documentation and data management systems, with at least two (2) years involving DoD programs.
Essential Duties:
- Provide support to Payroll by analyzing complex pay issues, interfacing with DFAS and Human Resources (HR) personnel to resolve pay issues, running, reviewing, and providing analysis on Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Defense Civilian Payroll System (DCPS) reports and data, and drafting guides, flow charts and process documentation
- Provide support in report extraction through the financial system of record or data warehouse as required to support Payroll/Timekeeping matters.
- Records management function to be adhered to regarding all reports extracted supporting Payroll/Timekeeping matters
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:
- Proven ability to perform specialized technical tasking such as financial analysis, review of technical book and report collections, digitization of documents, searching online reference catalog, and database management
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
