THIS POSITION:
We are currently hiring Gas Leak Survey Technicians. The Survey Techs will be responsible for detecting, locating, evaluating gas leaks and entering data into the company provided hand-held devices. The person in this position will be out in the field walking for the most of their workday in all weather conditions. This position will report directly to the Field Supervisor and is in the King of Prussia, PA area. A car stipend and gas card will also be provided.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accurately detect and classify gas leaks during inspections in designated areas.
- Locate and accurately assess the origin of damage and gas leaks.
- Accurately enters data into handheld devices to be submitted to field office.
- Reports identified gas leaks to gas company in a timely manner.
- Daily check-ins and communication with Field Supervisor and office staff.
- Provides customer with safety recommendations and information pertaining to any leaks found.
- Follows the specifications of the project(s) to ensure completion.
- Interprets and follows federal, state, local, and company laws, rules, and regulations.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
- Knowledge and understanding of safe worksite practices.
- Ability to accurately detect and class gas leaks.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work within and utilize existing utility standard designs.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions year-round.
- Ability to walk up to several miles a day with consistent bending, crouching, and kneeling while carrying 20lbs of equipment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to be able to work with citizens, company, contractor representatives, and customers.
- Experience using basic communication and tech devices.
- Familiarity in GIS software, specifically ESRI preferred.

This position is subject to the Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) drug & alcohol testing regulations as outlined in 49 CFR Part 382 and/or 49 CFR Part 199.
