Compensation: Hourly plus uncapped tips

Veda - Modern Indian Bistro is a fine dining restaurant in the heart of Philadelphia offering full service Indian cuisine. We are interested in growing our dynamic team, and are in search of a professional server. In this role, you’ll wow our guests with outstanding service and hospitality. Whether guests are celebrating a special occasion or just spending time with family and friends, our servers go the extra mile to make their dining experience memorable. Join us in serving up the best contemporary North Indian cuisine in our intimate & spacious dining room and a beautiful balcony bar.

Here’s what you’ll be taking care of as a Server:

• Taking orders, delivering hot food, answering phones, cleaning, and end of shift duties
• Greeting customers warmly and directing them to their tables
• Taking food and beverage orders and entering them into our system in a timely fashion
• Memorizing our food and beverage menus and making recommendations to dining room customers
• Providing attentive service to customers by refilling drinks as needed and checking in during meals
• Addressing customer service issues promptly and referring customers to management when necessary

An ideal candidate for us would be someone who possesses:

• High School Diploma required; must be at least 21 years old
• 2 - 4 years as a server in a fine dining restaurant
• Excellent communication, hospitality, interpersonal, and math skills
• Skilled at reading the table and can anticipate guests’ needs
• Willing to work a flexible schedule; must be available for weekends/holidays
• Team player, always willing to give and ask for help
• Able to lift up to 35 lbs., and continuously stay on your feet for an extended period of time
• Knowledge of food service regulations an asset
