Position Overview: We are currently seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer preferably in our Dubuque, Iowa or West Des Moines, Iowa office, but would be open to any of our office locations for the right candidate. Our team works with communities on a wide range of civil, municipal, and environmental projects. We are looking for a Professional Engineer who would work with Engineers, CAD Technicians, Construction Observers, Land Surveyors and office staff in various capacities.

- Developing detailed mechanical designs including such aspects as heating, ventilation and air conditioning; plumbing and other miscellaneous mechanical processes.
- Assist in completing mechanical design for our projects by working with the assigned staff, other offices, Project Managers and other electrical/mechanical engineers.
- Responsible for the selection of equipment to be used to satisfy the scope of the project.
- Provide design calculations, design drawings, project specifications, and construction observations for mechanical work on projects in accordance with applicable codes.
- Ensures that production of drawings, specifications, reports, and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements.
- Works with other disciplines to ensure there are no conflicts or interferences between disciplines.
- Reviews and approves design drawings of other employees or offices for an assigned segment of a project.
- Coordinate with field personnel and contractors to resolve problems that arise during construction. Frequently inspects construction projects for compliance with the engineering drawings and specifications.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical engineering
- 5 years of Mechanical engineering design experience
- Experience with AutoCAD drafting software
- Familiarity with process control and electrical systems
- PE in Iowa or ability to obtain within 6 months
