Job Title: Python Developer/Lead Locations: Irving, TX and Charlotte, NC Job Summary:

As a Python Developer/Lead, you will be responsible for leading the development of complex, scalable applications, leveraging Python to build high-performance systems. With 10 years of overall experience in software development, you will utilize your deep technical expertise to mentor junior developers, oversee critical architectural decisions, and ensure best practices are followed across all phases of the development lifecycle. Your background as a Java or .NET developer will provide valuable insights into the design and optimization of solutions in a Python-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of Python-based applications and systems.
• Take ownership of the technical direction of key projects, from architecture and implementation to deployment and support.
• Mentor and guide a team of Python developers, helping to grow their technical skills and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Develop and maintain reusable, scalable, and efficient code following Python best practices.
• Leverage your experience in Java or .NET to bring strong software engineering fundamentals to Python development, optimizing performance and code quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX/UI designers, and QA engineers, to deliver high-quality software on time.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure high code quality, maintainability, and security.
• Manage the integration of third-party services, APIs, and databases.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing applications to ensure maximum performance and reliability.
• Stay current with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies, integrating them into the development process when appropriate.
  
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10 years of overall experience in software development, with at least 3-4 years of hands-on experience in Python development.
• Strong experience in software development using Java or .NET during the earlier years of your career.
• Solid understanding of Python's core libraries, frameworks (such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI), and development best practices.
• Experience in designing and building scalable, high-performance web applications and services.
• Strong knowledge of databases, both relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis), and ORM frameworks like SQLAlchemy.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Expertise in API development and integration (RESTful and SOAP).
• Proficiency in version control systems, particularly Git, and experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes is a plus.
• Strong understanding of Agile software development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to optimize solutions for performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 10 years of experience in software development, with at least 3-4 years focused on Python.
• Previous experience as a Java Developer or .NET Developer is essential.
