JOB SUMMARY: Following established methods and procedures, ensures the timely and efficient processing of all inbound and outbound shipments, and the distribution of materials and products within the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Unpacks and inspects materials, products, and containers for quality and verifies count against order, bills of lading, invoices, or other records.
Rejects damaged items, records shortages, and notifies appropriate personnel of shortages or other discrepancies.
Routes incoming shipments to proper departments or locations using a forklift, hand trucks, tote boxes, and other material handling equipment, properly securing load to prevent shifting or damage.
Counts, weighs and records numbers of units of materials moved or handled and attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or containers.
Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Accurate completion of paperwork associated with shipping, receiving, moving and replenishment of inventory.
Processes transactions in the ERP system for receiving, transferring material, and for inventory management.
Maintains work area and equipment in clean and orderly condition.
Observes all safety, security and personal protection equipment procedures.
Loads truck for industrial truck operator.
Performs other related duties and assignments. Knowledge of all duties is to be cross-functional with specific duties assigned among available personnel. Expected to be available to work in other areas of production and must be able to work overtime when required (including short notice overtime) to meet daily customer demands.
