What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Vehicle Service Group?
Part of Dover Corporation’s Engineered Systems segment, Vehicle Service Group (VSG) is a strong, diverse and dynamic global leader in the vehicle service industry. VSG comprises 13 major vehicle lifting, wheel service, diagnostic and collision repair brands: Rotary Lift®, Chief®, Forward®, Direct-Lift®, Ravaglioli, Hanmecson®, Revolution®, Elektron, Blitz, Nogra, Butler, Space and Sirio.
SUMMARY:
Perform necessary preventive maintenance to equipment and provide support to production in consistent conformance with customer expectations. Support all continuous improvement activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
- Follow safety first work methods and procedures to avoid injury to self and co-workers or damage to company property, including use of all required personal protective equipment, following safety precautions (e.g. LOTO), ensuring proper machine guards, etc.
- Lubricate and oil machinery as needed.
- Perform necessary preventive maintenance to all equipment to ensure proper operation. Document all preventive maintenance.
- While performing PM make necessary repairs to equipment such as replacing bearings, relays, switches, and gearboxes within ability and escalate to supervisor repairs that cannot be performed.
- Must be able to work from ladders, lifts, and at different heights to perform duties.
- Maintain, sustain, and continuously improve VSG Preventative Maintenance program.
- Document use of spare parts to maintain inventory properly.
- Perform any required maintenance welding, using electric arc or gas processes as needed while performing PM.
- Perform minor machinery, electrical, and facility repairs as needed when found during PM.
- Assist in the installation of new machinery and relocate machinery as needed; ensure machinery is set up properly.
- Complete and document work assignments as directed.
- Logging work hours in CMMS system
- Assist in root cause analysis utilizing Dover fast problem-solving methodology.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Maintenance Log: Update necessary logs and check sheets to ensure preventive maintenance files are accurate and OSHA requirements are met.
- Training: Willingness to upgrade electrical/mechanical skill set both on and off the job.
Working Conditions:
Perform the essential functions of the position, with or without an accommodation, including, but not limited to:
- Perform work in a loud/noisy environment.

- Prolonged standing, frequently handling various parts for assembly, frequent walking, reaching at waist level, pushing/pulling, grasping/squeezing, pinching.
- Have fine motor dexterity, neck flexion, and be able to use air tools.
- Be able to reach overhead, reach at shoulder level, reach at knee and floor level.
- Bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, crawling, ladder/stair climbing, pivoting, twisting, neck extension/rotation, shoulder circumduction, lying supine and using vibratory tools also required
- Handling and lifting of parts and/or equipment (lifting 75 lbs. occasionally, 50 lbs frequently and repetitive pushing/pulling) as needed.

Interacts extensively with all manufacturing personnel and on an occasional basis with other functional areas within the Business Unit.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Education: High school graduate with at least 1 years of experience in two of the following areas: mechanical, machine shop, hydraulic, electrical, or megatronic disciplines.
Experience: High school graduate with at least 1-4 years of verifiable experience performing preventive maintenance task. Must be able to read and understand simple electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics and apply them to repair equipment and to order necessary parts. Must be able to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.

Supervision: Reports to Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager for job assignments and instructions. Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Responsibility: Exercises moderate degree of judgment. Questionable matters referred to the supervisor for assistance.
