In this role, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and counsel on a wide range of commercial and privacy related legal matters that align with our company culture and business objectives. You will work closely with our Sales, Business Development, Customer Success, Procurement, and Security Teams.

About The Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Legal Counsel to join our legal team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and counsel on a wide range of commercial and privacy related legal matters that align with our company culture and business objectives. You will work closely with our Sales, Business Development, Customer Success, Procurement, and Security Teams.
What You’ll Do
Commercial Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and lead the negotiation with sophisticated partners of key agreements , including:
- Customer Agreements
- Vendor Agreements (Saas, sponsorships, marketing)
- Non-Disclosure Agreements
- Data Processing Agreements
- Improve contract templates, negotiation playbooks, and legal workflows
- Provide practical legal guidance on privacy, data protection, and anti-spam compliance, ensuring adherence to laws like CCPA, CAN-SPAM, and TCPA.
- Develop and implement privacy policies and procedures with our Security Team
- Conduct privacy impact assessments
- Advise on data protection law trends and complex privacy issues, collaborating with the Consumer Product Team to ensure compliance while aligning with business objectives.
- Provide training to employees on legal and compliance matters
- Collaborate across teams and within the legal team to to support various legal projects
- You excel at drafting and negotiating complex agreements, balancing legal risk with business needs.
- You have hands-on experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools and innovative legal processes.
- You have in-depth knowledge of privacy and data protection laws (e.g., CCPA) and anti-spam regulations like CAN-SPAM and TCPA
- Proven track record in providing pragmatic, business-forward advice on privacy law matters.
- You thrive in fast-paced environments, solve problems proactively, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- You have a proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- You hold a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and are licensed in one of the 50 U.S. states.
- Experience working in the logistics or transportation industry
- Experience working with a high-growth technology company
- CIPP/US certification
