We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Mobile Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing blood draws and specimen collection at various locations, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the process. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in phlebotomy and a thorough understanding of medical terminology, laboratory procedures, and aseptic techniques.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture for blood specimen collection in a mobile setting.
- Process specimens according to established protocols, ensuring accurate labeling and handling.
- Monitor and record vital signs as necessary during patient interactions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and alleviate concerns.
- Collaborate with clinical laboratory staff to ensure proper specimen processing and delivery.
- Stay updated on laboratory techniques, medical terminology, and physiology knowledge relevant to phlebotomy practices.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in phlebotomy with a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and techniques.
- Proficiency in specimen collection processing, including knowledge of clinical laboratory operations.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to phlebotomy and laboratory work.
- Ability to perform vital signs assessments accurately.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact compassionately with patients of diverse backgrounds.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential for maintaining accurate records.
- Certification in phlebotomy or relevant healthcare field is preferred but not mandatory.

- Have you performed at least 100 venipuncture draws per year for at least 2 years?
- Do you have enough phlebotomy experience to handle potentially difficult draw situations out in the field with no back up?
- As this is an independent contractor position that requires you to have your own equipment and supplies so you can be ready to accept draw assignments near you as they come up, do you have, or can you get, supplies and equipment so you can be ready to draw right away when hired?
- Can you be available on weekday mornings to do draws?
