JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the day-to-day financial transactions of accounts payable, weekly payable disbursements, corporate credit card reconciliation, and various other transactional issues. Duties include performing various accounting and clerical skills. Maintains the files and records. Addresses questions and concerns with vendors, suppliers, and employees.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing accounts payable for multiple entities using SAP accounting software.
- Responsible for ensuring invoices are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to VEKA’s procedures and guidelines.
- Processing due invoices and verifying their accuracy by matching invoices to purchase orders comparing prices, quantities, terms of payment, and account coding.
- Reviews expense reports and verifies all information required on expense reports according to VEKA’s policies.
- Runs cash requirements and month end reports.
- Processes ACH payments and checks for mailing.
- Maintains accurate and accessible files and records.
- Creates vouchers with proper vendor number, account number, general ledger date, invoice number, invoice date, and due date.
- Run cash requirement and reports for review prior to printing computer-generated checks.
- Continuously assesses department processes to achieve automation or efficiency opportunities.
- Performs various miscellaneous assignments as assigned by Payables and Payroll Supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills:
- Accounting background with knowledge of computerized accounts payable environment required.
- Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Word/Excel required.
- Comfortable with math and calculations.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Accountability, assertiveness, dependability, responsiveness, timeliness, and confidentiality with a great attention to detail are essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; interacts regularly with wide range of personnel within VEKA and vendors.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Accounting experience required, experience in Accounts Payable Department preferred.
