JOB SUMMARY:
Your responsibilities encompass maintaining and configuring VEKA’s computer systems and servers. This position ensures that all VEKA departments at all VEKA facilities have reliable, secure, and efficient computer systems to limit work disruptions so that VEKA’s customers receive an outstanding service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and network servers
- Installs and upgrades computer components and software, manages virtual servers, and integrates automation processes
- Troubleshoots hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing business impact of issues
- Provides documentation and technical specification to IT Director for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
- Performs regular backup operations and implements appropriate process for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
- Provides desktop and helpdesk support, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
- Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance
- All other duties as assigned
Skills:
- Good knowledge of system software, hardware, and networking protocols
- Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent
- Experience with scripting and automation tools
- Good working knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to understand business objectives
- Team oriented with excellent interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to work with other IT department members to identify root problems and design solutions to resolve
- Ability to handle multiple priorities through excellent time management and organizational skills.

Education:
- Associated Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology required
- 5 years or more experience of database, network administration, or system administration experience
