SUMMARY
We are seeking a dedicated Software Test Engineer to join our team developing hardware and software for a FDA 510(k) cleared medical device.
Your primary role will be to ensure our software products are of the highest quality by designing, implementing, and automating testing, debugging and defining corrective actions. You will also be involved in the overall product development process to provide your inputs on architecture and approach in the context of better testability and maintainability.
You will review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics.
The ideal candidate should have a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for quality.
Familiarity with the software development life cycle (SDLC) from preliminary system analysis to tests and deployment is required
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Designing, developing, and executing test cases, plans, and protocols based on software requirements, discussion with developers and technical understanding
- Identifying, documenting, and reporting bugs, errors, and inconsistencies in software program output
- Collaborating with software developers to diagnose and rectify issues discovered during testing
- Improving and automating test procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of software testing
- Achieving, measuring, and maintaining adequate test coverage
- Ensuring compliance with general programming best practices, accepted web standards and those established by our team
- Participating in the design process and championing a test-driven development mindset
- Participating in product design reviews to provide feedback on potential issues, risks, and usability
- Working with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
- Conducting post-release/post-implementation testing to validate that requirements and specifications have been met
- Evaluating new testing tools and methodologies to improve the efficiency of the testing process
- Preparing reports on findings from the testing process to inform stakeholders and support decision making
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven work experience of four (4) or more years as a Software Test Engineer, Software Engineer or similar role
- Some experience in project management and QA methodology
- Experience in development of medical device software will be considered a significant positive
- Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
- Strong organizational skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
Salary : $90,000 - $150,000
