What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host position at Vela Bar Cocina?
The restaurant is open Tuesday - Friday for Dinner service, Saturday and Sunday for Brunch Dinner service.
The ideal candidate will be focused on providing exceptional hospitality and creating a memorable guest experience. He or she will possess a commanding knowledge of our food menu as well as our beverage program.
The Host will be well-organized, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and should demonstrate effective communication skills to achieve excellent customer service at all times.
Required Skills/Qualifications
- Minimum availability for 3 - 5 shifts.
- Must have OPEN weekend availability for both Dinner and Brunch shifts.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, high volume environment, and maintains a calm demeanor while quickly and effectively solving problems.
- Must be hospitable, approachable, and passionate about guest service and respectful towards colleagues and guests.
- Must be able to demonstrate competency as outlined in the training schedule.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to take direction, work in a team environment autonomously.
