**Job Summary:**
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Project Coordinator or Project Manager to join our two company office. Both Higgins and Velcon share the same ownership, but have create distinct niches for each in the engineering community. This positions duties will be split between assisting both companies. An average day would see this position coordinating construction related inspections, assisting with document preparation for permit and project close-out, tracking budgets and schedules, and helping ensure that projects meet technical, environmental, and quality standards. A strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and good verbal and written communication skills are essential.
**Responsibilities:**
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence with professionalism
- Maintain filing systems and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
- Assist with basic clerical tasks as needed
- Schedule inspections/meetings with staff and clients
- Assist with permit review
- Assist with permit close-out procedures
- Coordinate with contractors, inspectors, and internal staff
- Support preparation of construction documents, cost estimates, and reports
- Review site plans, drainage reports and provide input based on field conditions
- Prepare memos, field reports, and meeting summaries
- Assist with permitting and coordination with regulatory agencies
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders and project teams.
**Qualifications:**
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required – experience will be considered in lieu of formal education
- 3 years of experience in construction, project coordination, or related field
- Familiarity with civil site work, drainage systems, or water resources is a plus
- Ability to read construction drawings
- Knowledge of local municipality permitting requirements and processes is a major plus
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is mandatory
- Excellent communication skills and email and phone etiquette
- Familiarity with phone systems and printing and scanning
