Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Corporate Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in corporate accounting, cash management, and accounting software platforms. This role is crucial in maintaining compliance with GAAP standards and managing the overall financial health of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Month End Close including reconciling of accounts and making accrual entries
- Input entries to Fixed Assets for new and disposed vehicles; calculate depreciation
- Bank and loan reconciliation, administer wire transfers, review and sign checks
- Analyze P&L statements for variances
- Review Accounts Payable including invoices for entry and payment, new vendor additions, sales tax returns, debt statements and payment
- Complete monthly/quarterly sales tax returns
- Monthly invoicing & preparation of Schedule A's
- Audit final accountings of all disposed vehicles
- Manage cash flow and optimize cash management strategies
- Prepare financial statements and supporting documents for monthly Board of Directors meetings with shareholders ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Credit review of business prospects including financial statements analysis
- Supervise accounts receivable processes and timely collection of outstanding invoices
- Perform HR functions including onboarding new employees, tracking PTO balance and processing semi-monthly payroll
- Utilize accounting software for efficient financial management and reporting
- Conduct general ledger reconciliation to identify discrepancies and ensure all accounts are accurately maintained
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making.
Experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in cash management practices and strategies
- Overseeing accounting department personnel with direct reports
- Proficient with FAS, Dynamics GP accounting software and Excel
- Demonstrated ability to perform general ledger and account reconciliation effectively
- Experience managing accounts receivable processes and payroll functions
- Automotive background is beneficial and CPA designation preferred
