We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trademark Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in trademark law, including the preparation and filing of trademark applications, conducting trademark searches, managing trademark portfolios, and handling enforcement and litigation support. This role will also include general paralegal support for the Senior Legal Counsel, North America. This role will require a proactive, detail-oriented professional with excellent communication and organizational skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Trademark Filing and Prosecution:
- Manage the docketing and tracking of trademark deadlines.
- Coordinate with outside counsel on international filings and trademark strategy.
Trademark Enforcement & Litigation Support:
- Review suspected infringer websites and prepare draft cease and desist letters.
- Assist in managing trademark disputes, including cease and desist letters, oppositions, and cancellations.
- Conduct investigations related to potential trademark infringement.
- Support litigation efforts by gathering evidence and documents for trademark cases.
Client & Vendor Interaction:
- Conduct weekly trademark training sessions for new hire orientation.
- Conduct audits of customer websites to ensure proper use of trademarks.
- Communicate with internal teams, clients, and outside counsel regarding trademark matters.
- Maintain positive relationships with trademark agents and other external vendors.
- Utilize electronic signature software to obtain necessary signatures for finalization of trademark and other contracts.
Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive trademark files, databases, and reports.
- Assist in preparing periodic reports and audits of the trademark portfolio for internal stakeholders.
- Upload trademark and other contracts into the Salesforce CMS system
Other Duties:
- Assist Senior Legal Counsel, North America with proofreading, editing, formatting and finalization of legal documents.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Trademark Law
- Bachelors Degree or the equivalent years of experience as a paralegal or similar field
- Paralegal Certification required
- Trademark docketing system experience
- Strong Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel experience
- The ability to be onsite in Manchester, NH two days per week
