Overview
The Senior People Operations Generalist plays an essential role on the Velir People Operations (POps) team and reports directly to the VP, People Operations. In this position, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing innovative People Operations strategies that align with our Agency's goals. You will serve as a strategic partner to leadership, providing guidance on best practices and ensuring that our policies and processes are in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting and driving initiatives related to employee engagement, performance management, and employee relations.
In addition, you will be responsible for fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment that retains high performers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human resources, exceptional coaching skills, and a passion for creating an empowering workplace culture. You will work closely with various departments, facilitating effective communication and collaboration to ensure that our People Operations initiatives are effectively executed across the organization. Responsibilities
- Employee Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for all team members.
- Employee Relations: Act as a trusted resource for team members, addressing questions, and concerns related to HR policies, benefits, and team members concerns and grievances, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace environment.
- Culture and Engagement: Promote a positive company culture and employee engagement through various initiatives and programs.
- Performance Management: Oversee performance management processes, ensuring effective feedback and development.
- Compliance: Ensure all HR practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Stay updated on labor laws and industry trends.
- Learning & Development: Support training and development programs to support employee growth and career advancement.
- Data & Reporting: Analyze HR metrics to provide insights and recommendations for improving employee engagement, retention, and performance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with leadership, recruiting, and other teams to support organizational goals and initiatives.
- IDEA Initiatives: Drive and support the launch of our new business resource groups, partnering with our advisory board to promote a culture of inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility.
- Support In-Office Operations: Manage day-to-day office needs, including issuing access cards, coordinating parking, ordering supplies, and assisting with occasional in-office events to ensure a smooth and welcoming workplace environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 3 years of experience in HR, people operations, or a related role.
- Deep understanding of employment laws, compliance requirements, and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication and people skills that help build connections.
- Thrives in a team environment and loves to contribute to a collaborative culture.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and all its features.
- Takes a proactive, solution-oriented approach while maintaining high confidentiality and discretion.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field of study, preferred
- Frequently sitting at a desk performing work on a computer.
