Things that are important to us
- Sharing work equally. No one person will be excluded or prevented from performing an equal amount of work and work duties. EX: "I only like working on the bar" or "I don't like to make drinks so I will stay at the register" <--- not okay. It puts other team members at a disadvantage and forces them to only do one task. We should all be switching off equally to become well-practiced and keep things fresh at work and make things less boring.
- Being able to work with a sense of urgency. This doesn't mean we want you to work 100mph all day every day and risk injuring yourself or exhausting yourself so that we can get as much out of you as we can (which is usually what most businesses want). What we do want, is people who can distinguish when it's time to pick up the pace and get things done when needed and still be able to keep things in order and clean while doing so (A long line during a busy portion of the day), and when it's alright to work at a normal pace.
- Working with a sense of urgency also comes with being able to work in high-stress moments without it affecting your demeanor. When people are frustrated and visibly upset, you can make everyone else around you uncomfortable (customers and employees). We won't tolerate any aggressive, mean-spirited, passive-aggressive actions while at work. Things like slamming a milk pitcher on the counter, or having some 'tude with a fellow employee. We don't want people to not want to come to work because of someone else and it will be handled quickly without many chances.
In summary, what is important to us is our employees first, and then our customers. If you can't be happy at work and supported, then how would we expect you to take care of our customers?
If these are all things that make sense to you and you could abide by our principles then please reach out!
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
