What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Buyer position at Velo3D?
- SIOP demand/supply readiness
- Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for materials and services
- Regularly communicates open order reports and actively ask to improve supplier commitments
- Monitors and tracks overdue or delinquent orders; escalate issues as necessary in order to maintain delivery schedule
- Assemble, analyze, and track supplier performance metrics (fill rate, on time delivery, shipping practices, etc..)
- Monitors Purchase Price Variance (PPV) to ensure lowest cost/price
- Track department spending by G/L category and adherence to spending budgets, manage Buy/Sell Report, including MRP messages, OH and On Order material, invoice/receipt reconciliation, stock auditing.
- Process compliance (SOX 2002)
- 5-10 years experience in purchasing and materials management, minimum bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline, higher preferred
- Materials Planning, Purchasing and/or Fulfillment skills required
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experiences with a global supply base is a must
- Confident in working in a high-pace dynamic environment, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and ensure task completion and deadlines are met
- Ability to multitask and effectively communicate progress and risks timely
- A quick learner and team player, exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time (when required)

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this full-time position is between $123,600 and $140,000. This salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for this position in the U.S. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience, job-related skills, related education, work location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. In addition to a competitive base salary and a comprehensive benefits package, this position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and equity program, as applicable.
