We are currently seeking a UX / UI Design Manager to join our Premium Design team, and help lead our Velocity Black mobile application and internal software, Gravity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in UX and UI design, and extensive experience designing end to end experiences for native applications.Velocity Black is a premium lifestyle digital concierge service that delivers exclusive travel, entertainment, shopping and dining offerings to consumers globally. This role will drive vision and craft exceptional end-to-end native experience to evolve and enhance customer experience. As a key part of the team, you will also work closely with craft leads, designers and cross functional teams to push creative boundaries while ensuring business impact and customer value. Collaborating with technology, product, and business teams to uncover customer and business needs, then translating them into engaging, simple, and intuitive design solutions and understandable concepts that evolve and enhance the product interface and experienceEngaging in portfolio prioritization to help set the strategy and product road map for the teamManaging through shifting priorities to provide clear direction and input on product prioritization and support early product definitionAdvocating for the customer through human-centered design methods, including : discovery, research, whiteboard sessions, and user testingChampioning prioritization of design centered product enhancements grounded in research and analysisWorking with partners and teams across various geographiesEmbracing and advocating for an experience mindset - this is as important to the work as the resultsDiscovering & Delivering

Supporting early product definition by working with partners to facilitate discovery sessions that uncover customer pain points and opportunitiesDemonstrating familiarity with design tools to deliver concepts and enable successful collaboration across teamsDriving end-to-end product design by :

Working with researchers to understand customer needs and define opportunities through usability and empathy studies and analyzing data trendsFraming problems, defining insights, and designing new methodologies / practices to serve customer needsCreating process and user flows, wireframes, journey maps, and interaction models, resulting in low to high fidelity prototypesPlanning and facilitating workshops with internal and external stakeholders to align with business needsDesigning within existing — and creating new — standards to enhance design systemStorytelling through business acumen and presenting visual concepts to various stakeholdersCreating end-to-end high fidelity design assets for acceptance, tech development, and delivery to market in partnership with various tech teams

Basic QualificationsAt least 6 years of experience with UX / UI designAt least 6 years of experience designing end to end native experiencesPreferred Qualifications8 years of experience designing for cross channel experiences, especially native applications (for both iOS and Android) as well as webExperience working with existing and building new design systemsExperience building relationships and working with a variety of cross functional business partners to deliver outcomesFamiliarity with design and prototyping tools, such as Adobe Products, Sketch and / or FigmaExperience managing a cross-functional teamAt this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.Chicago, IL : $144,000 - $164,400 for Manager, DesignMcLean, VA : $158,400 - $180,800 for Manager, DesignNew York, NY : $172,800 - $197,200 for Manager, DesignRichmond, VA : $144,000 - $164,400 for Manager, DesignCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and / or long term incentives (LTI).
