We are seeking an experienced payroll executive to lead our global payroll function, delivering Employer of Record as well as our global payroll and expense management solutions. As the Head of Global Payroll, you will define and drive our payroll strategy, execution, product development, operations and delivery of services across all 185 countries. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to directly manage a large international team, interact with clients large and small, and shape a fast growing and dynamic industry working for one of the original innovators in the space. This individual will report to the Chief Operating Officer, with close collaboration across our product, engineering and finance teams a large part of the job.
You Will:
- Develop and manage the overall global payroll strategy and payroll initiatives, which include EOR payroll, global payroll, partnership opportunities and management, and direct customer-facing interactions with our clients and supported employees.
- Ensure Velocity Global maintains and expands its global leadership in the Employer of Record industry through innovative and customer-first payroll offerings unmatched by any of our competitors
- Provide operational leadership to ensure timely and accurate payroll for supported employees worldwide.
- Serve as a subject matter and industry expert for Global payroll and establish oneself as a true leader in the space
- Working with our R&D team, define and execute our payroll product and tech strategy
- Manage a team of over 50 employees.
- Partner with the Legal and compliance team to ensure adherence to all global and local regulatory, legal and internal compliance requirements for supported and internal employees.
- Managing deliverables across internal and external stakeholders; understanding reporting/financials; supporting risk/compliance work and plan audits; owning the customer experience and promoting operational excellence
- Leads fact-based, solution-orientated mindsets in teams to ensure continual development and maintenance of service level metrics, management information as well as end-to-end controls for systems, people and payroll processes.
- Recruits, directs, motivates, and develops people managers and individual contributors, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team.
You have:
- Strong understanding of the global payroll space, along with a demonstrated track record of developing best in class global payroll solutions
- Minimum 10 years in building global payroll solutions, including system implementation and service delivery on a global level
- Deep experience in fast growing, tech enabled businesses
- Live and breathe operational excellence
- Willingness and ability to innovate fresh and/or unique approaches and solutions
- Experience working in a strategic, analytical, or metric-driven position.
- Ability to effectively lead and collaborate across internal and external stakeholders
- Strong record of customer service and customer first mindset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, time sensitive work environment, multi-task, work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple deliverables.
- Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement of processes and efficiency gains
- Provide coaching, mentoring and support to drive sustained improvement across the business
- Experience in developing and managing KPIs for performance of operational teams
