Senior Software Engineer, (fullstack)

We are looking for an accomplished and motivated Senior Fullstack Software Engineer to join our AI Engineering team. You will be responsible for designing, building, and scaling innovative solutions that enhance our user acquisition, engagement, and retention efforts. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful features and contribute to the success of Velocity Global's company objectives. This role is ideal for someone who is capable and interested in working with a group whose work transitions between the frontend and backend semi-frequently. Our work is prospect, customer and internal facing, meaning we collaborate with other teams to bring AI capabilities and features into their areas of ownership.

This role will require in-office collaboration for 3 days per week in our Palo Alto, CA office.

You Will:

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to build and deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.
• Build, optimize, and maintain applications and services using React JS, TypeScript, Postgres, and AWS in a serverless environment.
• Optimize systems and processes to drive customer acquisition, retention, and engagement.
• Lead by example in writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Contribute to technical discussions, design reviews, and code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices to continuously enhance our technology stack.

You Have:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience..
• 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on Frontend capabilities with a proven ability to contribute to the backend as well
• Experience with React, TypeScript, CSS and AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, S3, etc.).
• Solid understanding of software design patterns & experience working within a frontend design system, and deep understanding of testing frontend components (cypress, storybook)
• A lean mindset - Focus on delivering customer value by minimizing waste, optimizing workflows, fostering continuous improvement, and prioritizing in an iterative manner.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Experience troubleshooting issues with users, with a team-oriented mindset.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in a serverless microservices environment (AWS Lambda)
• Deep understanding of interactive animation tools and capabilities especially when working within a React environment (Snapsvg, parallax, Threejs, etc)
• Previous experience in marketing tech experience, e.g. PHP (Drupal/Wordpress)
• Experience building UI for AI enabled features (Chatbot, Concierge, Search etc)

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The base pay depends upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified.

Annualized Pay Range: $141,000—$160,500 USD
