Velocity Network, Northwest Pennsylvania’s leading technology services firm, is currently searching for a Technical Support and Project Specialist to join our growing team.
This position is responsible for maintaining the design and integrity of customer’s IT systems, coordinating complex projects, and implementing hardware and software solutions.
Responsibilities for the position include:
- IT support relating to technical issues involving Microsoft's core business applications, as well as virtual environments built on both Microsoft and VMware.
- Design, implementation, and support services for Microsoft related technologies: Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, Office365, and Azure
- Engineer and implement system solutions for customers using technologies that meet their needs.
- Implement and support disaster recovery solutions.
- Technical services and support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security.
- Firewall and remote access solution implementation and support: SonicWall, VPN, Terminal Services, SMA
- Create and maintain detailed documentation
- Consulting services to include system reviews and recommendations.
- Communication with customers as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes, and migration plans.
The qualified candidate will have at least two years of experience in networking and server administration roles, and previous experience in project-based IT deployments and switch configurations for brands like Cisco or Aruba. Proficiency in server OS setup and management (Windows, Hyper-V), familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and experience with monitoring and management tools is also required.
