Velocity produces “restomod” restorations where classic vehicles are upgraded with modern parts, drivetrain, and technology making them functionally new while maintaining an original or vintage aesthetic. The company has pioneered a custom classic vehicle renovation via an assembly line process, ensuring a high level of quality control, with a known price, and significantly decreased build time. We have a talented team of 130 employees and a 135,000 square foot facility in Cantonment, Florida where we are continuing to add additional production lines and new vehicle offerings.
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative CNC Programmer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating precise and efficient CNC programs to manufacture components that meet our high standards for quality and craftsmanship. This role is pivotal in optimizing production processes and ensuring the timely delivery of parts in our automotive restoration and customization projects.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Programming & Operation: Develop, test, and modify CNC programs using CAD/CAM software to produce parts per design specifications.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD designs to plan machining sequences.
- Quality Control: Ensure finished products meet quality and dimensional standards through proper testing and inspection.
- Setup Assistance: Collaborate with machinists to set up CNC machines, select appropriate tools, and troubleshoot setup issues.
- Process Optimization: Evaluate machining processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Maintenance Coordination: Conduct regular maintenance checks on CNC equipment and report malfunctions to the maintenance team.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of CNC programs, tooling specifications, and operational procedures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, designers, and technicians to ensure seamless production and address design-to-manufacturing challenges.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks, Fusion 360).
- Strong understanding of G-code/M-code programming.
- Familiarity with CNC machinery, including lathes, mills, and routers.
- Knowledge of various materials, including metals, plastics, and composites.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced production environment.
Education Background and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or certification in CNC Programming, Machining, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of CNC programming experience, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
Key Performance Indicators (Performance will be tracked by the following data metrics)
- UMC1000 up time hours greater than 60 by end of December 2025.
- CR Onsurd up time hours greater than 50 by end of December 2025.
- SOS & Shop manuals Sync’d greater than 98%.QC Checklist & pass/fail criteria Sync’d greater than 98%.
Physical Demands (To include but not limited to)
- Prolonged periods of standing or walking around the workspace.
- Frequently lifting heavy objects, such as tools, parts, or equipment, often weighing up to 50-75 pounds.
- Regularly bending, stooping, or crouching to work on vehicles at different heights.
- Moving large or heavy equipment, carts, or vehicles within the shop.
- Precise manipulation of tools, small parts, and diagnostic equipment.
- Continuous use of hands, arms, and fingers for tasks like tightening bolts, sanding, or painting.
- Exposure to loud noises from power tools and machinery.
- Using equipment like impact wrenches or sanders that produce significant vibration.
- Working in non-climate-controlled environments, leading to exposure to heat or cold.
- Potential exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals like solvents, oils, and paints. Proper PPE is often required.
- Ensuring accuracy in measurements, assembly, and inspections.
- Analyzing and troubleshooting mechanical or structural issues.
- Frequent reaching above the shoulders or below the waist.
- Maintaining physical activity throughout the day without fatigue.
- Adherence to safety protocols to avoid injuries from sharp tools, heavy objects, or moving vehicles.
- Safely operate a motor vehicle.
