What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Advisor position at Velocity Safety Advisors?
SUMMARY:
Velocity is in search of a Safety Advisor to oversee the client’s project safety program, regulatory compliance in the field, injury prevention, risk assessment, communications, and safety training.
This is a 6 month assignment working with a full-service interiors contractor in Michigan City, Indiana. (Local candidates, no per diem)
JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Work with the Project Management team to plan, implement and supervise the project environmental, health and, safety requirements.
· Address and recommend corrective action for violations, incidents, and trends.
· Reinforces safety culture with field team members, promoting positive reinforcement through coaching and mentoring.
· Complete daily field Safety audits utilizing the electronic safety software provided.
· Assists with follow up on any OSHA related issues, citations, and/or documentation requirements.
· Attend project related safety and pre-construction meetings.
· Assist with injury, general liability and near miss investigations.
· Provide and oversee Safety Orientation processes.
· Assists in development of written site safety plans and JHA’s for hazardous activities.
· Responsible for creation and delivery of relevant weekly safety talks.
· Periodically present information for Safety Stand Downs and pre-shift huddles.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum of 5-10 years of Construction experience, specific to Marine Safety, Pile Driving and Sheet Piling.
· OSHA 510
· OSHA 30 Hour Certification
· First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
· Microsoft Office skills required
· Ability to positively interact and influence field team members to create a safe and healthy work environment.

Pay: $35.00 - $39.00 per hour
Expected hours: 50 per week
