What You’ll Do:
The Body Shop Estimator is a key team player responsible for providing estimates, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring customer satisfaction for the Body Shop. The Body Shop Estimator is responsible for providing 90% of all estimates to customers, opening and closing repair orders, generating purchase orders, and approving expenditures for the department. The Body Shop Estimator duties will extend to managing the day-to-day operations of the body shop, offering customer service, approving outsourcing of services, and coordinating with insurance companies to secure insurance benefits for customers. Additionally, the Estimator will be involved in overseeing the quality of work performed, scheduling and assigning technicians' tasks, monitoring their efficiency and productivity, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will be a team player with exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, coupled with a proven background in estimating, preferably within the automotive, dealership, or body shop environment. Job Duties:
- Provides 90% of all estimates to customers
- Opens and closes repair orders
- Generates purchase orders
- Approves expenditures for department
- Manages day-to-day operations of the body shop
- Provides customer service for department
- Approves outsourcing of services
- Interacts and coordinates with insurance companies to obtain insurance benefits for customers
- Provides DPF (diesel particulate filter) repairs
- Runs errands for department
- Schedules and assigns technician’s work
- Supervises quality of work performed
- Tracks and monitors efficiency and productivity of technicians
- Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state and local regulations that affect body shop operations
- Develops and communicates the company’s values, vision and mission
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- Proficient computer skills is required
- Previous experience in an automotive, dealership or body shop environment is strongly preferred
- Prior estimating experience
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively multitask in a fast-paced environment is a must.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with a positive attitude.
- Strong organizational skills are a key requirement.
- Proven ability to set and prioritize goals effectively.
- Must be able to pass post offer drug test, and physical.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- $60,000-$90,000/annually depending on skills and experience
