VTRL is looking for an Entry-Level Diesel Technician to join our team in Savannah, GA for following hours : Monday-Friday between 10 : 00am-6 : 30pm! Job Classification Skills and Qualifications :
The P.M. Technician maintains the fleet operation by completing inspections in accordance with Federal, State and Corporate guidelines. Correcting minor vehicle deficiencies; making adjustments, alignments and replacements at the direction of Management. "See Required Activity / Skill List"
Job Duties :
- Determines vehicle condition by conducting Preventive Maintenance Inspections; oil changes; chassis lubrication and identifying worn and damaged parts.
- Inspections to be performed both in shop and remotely to customer needs.
- Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades as directed, controlling corrosion and proper lubrication on each PM cycle.
- Corrects light repairs and vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, assembling, disassembling components, parts, or systems. Areas to include lighting, expendable equipment, air and electrical lines.
- Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems.
- Performs tire repairs, replacements, rotations, mounting and dismounting on and off from vehicles as needed.
- Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
- Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
- Keeps shop Service Trucks and equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Contains costs by using warranty, evaluating service and parts options.
- Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications.
- Performs all duties of lesser classification, and other work-related duties as directed.
