This role is essential in ensuring the continuity, availability, and performance of all IT services. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a proactive mindset, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner. The IT Operations Specialist will also work closely with other IT teams to implement solutions and improve operational efficiency.Job Duties : System Monitoring & Maintenance : Continuously monitor the health and performance of servers, networks, applications, and other IT systems to ensure operational efficiency. Use monitoring tools to identify and resolve performance issues proactively.Incident Management & Troubleshooting : Respond to and resolve IT issues related to system outages, hardware failures, software bugs, and user support requests. Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis to prevent future issues.IT Infrastructure Management : Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, storage devices, networking equipment, and virtual environments. Work with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) to ensure the smooth operation of cloud-based applications and services.Software Updates & Patch Management : Ensure that all IT systems are up to date with the latest security patches and software updates. Regularly schedule and perform updates on operating systems, applications, and other IT platforms.Backup & Recovery : Implement and manage regular backup schedules for critical systems and data. Assist in disaster recovery efforts by ensuring that recovery procedures are tested and up-to-date.Security & Compliance : Ensure the integrity and security of the company's IT infrastructure by implementing security protocols and monitoring for vulnerabilities. Assist in maintaining compliance with security policies, data privacy regulations, and industry standards.Documentation : Create and maintain clear, up-to-date documentation for system configurations, procedures, troubleshooting steps, and best practices. Ensure that all documentation is accessible and organized for future reference.Collaboration & Support : Work closely with other IT teams (e.g., Network, Security, Development) to ensure smooth operations and the resolution of cross-functional technical issues. Provide technical support to end users, helping resolve any hardware or software issues.Performance Optimization : Continuously evaluate IT systems and processes to identify areas for improvement and optimization. Recommend changes or enhancements to increase operational efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.Vendor Management : Assist with the management of IT vendors and service providers. Ensure that contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) are met and support requests are handled in a timely manner.Capacity Planning : Assist in forecasting and managing the growth of the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring scalability and cost management. Collaborate with other departments to plan for future IT needs.Required Skills and Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).2-4 years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, or a similar role.Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including servers (Windows / Linux), networking, cloud computing (AWS, Azure), and storage solutions.Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds) and performance management.Familiarity with scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible) to automate routine tasks.Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions and processes.Experience with patch management and software update processes.Understanding of security best practices, network protocols, and firewall configuration.Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve issues under pressure.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.Preferred Skills : Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).Familiarity with database management and administration (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle).Experience with cloud infrastructure and services, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS platforms.Knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.Certification in IT operations or systems administration (e.g., CompTIA Network , Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) is a plus.Compensation : $100,000-$125,000 depending on skills and experience Benefits Velocity Vehicle Group Offers : Fantastic Culture401k matchHealth, Dental & Vision Insurance HSA & FSAEmployer paid Life InsurancePaid Vacation DaysSick LeaveCompany perks such as employee discounts, company events and training programsExcellent Training and Career Advancement OpportunitiesVelocity Vehicle Group is an equal opportunity employer.
