The Parts Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating the procurement, distribution, inventory control, and maintenance of medium, heavy duty and equipment parts for SVT fleet clientele. The role of a parts specialist requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of automotive, medium to heavy duty or equipment parts, supply chain management, and inventory control principles is essential. With their contributions, The parts Specialist play a crucial role in keeping the company’s customer’s vehicles and equipment operational, minimizing downtime, and optimizing maintenance processes.

Job Duties:
- Keeping track of the organization's parts inventory, ensuring that an adequate supply of essential parts is maintained while minimizing excess stock.
- Monitoring inventory levels, reordering parts as needed, and managing the stock to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Sourcing parts from suppliers or manufacturers, negotiating prices, and placing orders to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of parts for repair/maintenance services.
- Verifying the quality and compatibility of parts with the organization's vehicles or equipment.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and vendors, evaluating their performance, and seeking opportunities for cost savings and improved service.
- Coordinating the distribution of parts to the appropriate locations within the organization, whether it's a central warehouse, repair shops, or field service locations.
- Having a good understanding of the vehicles or equipment in the fleet, including their mechanical components and parts. This knowledge helps in identifying the right parts for repairs and replacements.
- Keeping accurate records of parts transactions, orders, and inventory levels. This information is crucial for tracking expenses, analyzing usage patterns, and making informed decisions.
- Working closely with technicians, service staff and customers to understand their parts requirements and ensure that the right parts are available when needed for repairs.
- Monitoring costs associated with parts procurement and inventory.
- Addressing issues related to parts availability, compatibility, and quality, and finding quick solutions to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
- Ensuring that all parts meet company safety and regulatory standards
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in automotive/diesel technology is preferred.
- 3 years as a Parts coordinator/Person or similar role
- Experience in the trucking industry a plus.
- Knowledge of automotive/diesel systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, HVAC, and suspension.
- Familiarity with medium to heavy duty truck parts/components a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Medium and heavy-duty truck parts experience preferred
- Forklift certified
- Microsoft Knowledge
- Inventory control experience a plus
- Must be able to pass post offer drug test, background check and lift test.
- Hourly $25-$35/hr. depending on skills/experience
