What You’ll Do: We are seeking a highly skilled and IT-savvy Sr. Manager of Dealer Systems to lead the optimization of our Dealer Management Systems (DMS). The ideal candidate will have deep experience in configuring, maintaining, and improving the back end of DMS, with a strong emphasis on system efficiency, reliability, and scalability. This role is perfect for a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, who can collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our systems align with the evolving needs of our dealership network.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the configuration, implementation, and maintenance of Dealer Management Systems (DMS).
Ensure system integrity, reliability, and security through robust back-end infrastructure management.
Analyze current DMS processes, identifying opportunities for optimization and innovation.
Implement best practices to enhance system efficiency and user experience.
Provide technical guidance and support to dealership staff and internal teams.
Collaborate with IT, sales, and operations teams to align system capabilities with business goals.
Manage relationships with DMS vendors and service providers, ensuring top-tier service and support.
Negotiate contracts and service agreements to meet company standards and budget targets.
Lead and oversee system upgrade projects, ensuring minimal disruption and timely delivery.
Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets.
Monitor system performance and generate reports to support strategic planning.
Utilize data analytics tools to track KPIs and identify trends for continuous improvement.
Design and conduct training programs for dealership staff on DMS best practices.
Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for system-related issues.
Required Qualifications:
Must have dealer management experience within the trucking or automotive industry.
10+ years of SQL DBA experience with proven success in migrating on-premises databases to Azure.
Strong SQL and Azure infrastructure knowledge, with experience in database migrations and clustering/HA configurations.
Proficiency in troubleshooting complex database issues and managing disaster recovery procedures.
Experience managing performance and capacity in a dynamic database environment.
Ability to meet ticket SLA expectations and stay current with emerging database technologies.
Experience working in both OLTP and OLAP environments.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, and expert-level experience in at least one database platform (multi-platform preferred).
Deep understanding of integrated security and the ability to troubleshoot with both technical and business audiences.
Strong skills in SQL writing, troubleshooting, and database performance tuning.
Ability to monitor and manage scheduled tasks, backups, and database storage needs, adhering to change control procedures.
Excellent team collaboration within the database administration team and across Technical Service Groups.
Ability to generate reports on performance and proactively identify future needs for system reliability.
Document, test, and implement database system updates.
A passion for learning new technologies and sharing knowledge with others.
Willingness to work outside of regular business hours as needed for project or operational work.
