The Process Engineer will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and improving manufacturing and operational processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role requires a strong focus on continuous improvement, collaboration across departments, and adherence to safety and compliance standards.

Overview
The Process Engineer will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and improving manufacturing and operational processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role requires a strong focus on continuous improvement, collaboration across departments, and adherence to safety and compliance standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day production of vehicle restorations across all manufacturing areas including fabrication, body, paint, trim, general assembly, test & tune, quality, and refit.
- Develop, implement, and own processes to support re-born vehicle components, assemblies, and systems; Develop and qualify new processes to take products from design to production through product and process integration.
- Develop and optimize production processes in alignment with labor cost targets, and lead initiatives to create and manage manufacturing standard work, job instruction sheets, and other pertinent documents and specifications
- Implement process improvement methodologies and tools (e.g. line balancing, value stream mapping, problem-solving, visual management, etc.) to reduce manufacturing build hours and quality issues, increase production rates, and remove waste from processes across multiple departments
- Identify, plan, and execute capital equipment, machine, and layout upgrades to meet production demand
- Analyze and disposition manufacturing discrepancies and interface with the quality team on root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Review work performed by the Production team and/or external vendors, identify service quality risks, and collaborate with Quality team to drive performance improvement initiatives both internally and externally
- Optimize vehicle components and processes for manufacturing in collaboration with cross-functional teams considering KPIs such as quality, productivity, and capital expenditure
- Analyzes and dispositions manufacturing discrepancies and interfaces with the quality team on root cause analysis and implement corrective actions as required
- Works in a cross-functional team environment as a strong team player and demonstrates the ability to work with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in process modeling tools and software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in automotive restoration or related industries is a plus.
- Six Sigma greenbelt certified is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering or equivalent
- Experience working in a production, manufacturing, or operations environment, with emphasis on manufacturing planning, material flow, and process improvement
- 3 years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing, or a related role.
- Experience in classic vehicle production, restoration, or high-end automotive manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, or walking around the workspace.
- Frequent use of fingers and hands for typing, writing, and operating a computer.
- Using telephones, printers, copiers, and other office tools.
- Frequent need to focus on printed or digital material.
- Reviewing documents, schedules, or customer data with accuracy.
- Frequently lifting heavy objects, such as tools, parts, or equipment, often weighing up to 50-75 pounds.
- Regularly bending, stooping, or crouching to work on vehicles at different heights.
- Moving large or heavy equipment, carts, or vehicles within the shop.
- Precise manipulation of tools, small parts, and diagnostic equipment.
- Exposure to loud noises from power tools and machinery.
- Working in non-climate-controlled environments, leading to exposure to heat or cold.
- Potential exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals like solvents, oils, and paints. Proper PPE is often required.
- Ensuring accuracy in measurements, assembly, and inspections.
- Analyzing and troubleshooting mechanical or structural issues.
- Frequently reaching above the shoulders or below the waist.
- Maintaining physical activity throughout the day without fatigue.
- Adherence to safety protocols to avoid injuries from sharp tools, heavy objects, or moving vehicles.
