Job Summary:
The Sr. Network Engineer is a key member of the Network Operations team at the Florida Turnpike Enterprises (FTE). This position involves managing and troubleshooting advanced network infrastructures, including routers, switches, and firewalls. The role will focus on ensuring the network infrastructure’s reliability, security, and performance across multiple environments.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Layer 2 and 3 protocols, routers, and switches, focusing on sustaining data throughput.
- Proactively monitor and troubleshoot FTE’s network infrastructure.
- Review and recommend changes to optimize network architecture for performance and reliability.
- Ensure network segmentations meet security requirements for PCI, Financial, and customer data.
- Leverage SolarWinds for proactive monitoring, reporting, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure infrastructure logs are being sent to SIEM.
- Perform vulnerability scans for network infrastructure.
- Maintain accurate inventory of network equipment and document changes.
- Support Cloud architecture design and capacity planning.
- Assist with forensic analysis and cybersecurity events.
- Ensure compliance with NIST standards and other best practices.
- Participate in threat intelligence activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Certifications:
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) – REQUIRED
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) – REQUIRED
- Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) – Preferred
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) – Preferred
- Experience:
- 5-7 years of hands-on experience with Layer 2/3 routing protocols, deployment, and troubleshooting.
- 2-3 years working experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Rapid7 Nexpose preferred).
- Experience with Private, Public, and Hybrid Cloud infrastructures such as AWS, Azure.
- Experience with Unix (RedHat), Windows, VMware, and other platforms.
