- Develop and implement operational strategies to support growth, efficiency, and profitability in the Fiber OSP Construction division.
- Set clear objectives for operational performance, including safety, quality, schedule, and budget adherence.
- Collaborate with senior management to align operational activities with overall business goals.
- Oversee the planning and execution of fiber OSP projects, including new fiber installations, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Ensure projects meet milestones and customer specifications by proactively addressing delays, technical challenges, and resource gaps.
- Manage the full lifecycle of projects, from site preparation and permitting to testing and final documentation.
- Build, mentor, and lead a team of project managers, site supervisors, and field staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and safety across the team.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and facilitate professional development opportunities.
- Enforce safety protocols, OSHA compliance, and industry best practices on all job sites.
- Lead safety training initiatives and emergency response planning to ensure a zero-incident work environment.
- Keep up-to-date with regulatory requirements and ensure full compliance at all times.
- Prepare, monitor, and manage budgets for all projects to achieve financial targets.
- Oversee procurement, inventory, and equipment management, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to negotiate contracts, secure materials, and maintain quality standards.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure all work meets customer expectations and company standards.
- Identify and address operational inefficiencies, develop standard operating procedures, and foster a mindset of continuous improvement.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational success and report findings to executive leadership.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction.
- Handle escalations and resolve conflicts by identifying effective, solutions-oriented approaches.
- Provide regular project status updates to clients, ensuring transparency and alignment with their goals.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or 10 years of experience in fiber optic construction or a similar utility construction field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of fiber OSP construction processes, materials, equipment, and permitting requirements.
- Strong understanding of safety standards, including OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
- Demonstrated success in budget management, project planning, and process optimization.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in construction management software, Microsoft Office, and project scheduling tools.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
