What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Crate Building/Packing Operator 2nd shift position at VELUX?
The primary purpose of this position is to lead a team in the repetitive packing operations in the manufacturing of skylight component parts according to production standards and plans.
Primary Responsibilities:
Shift Schedule: 4:30pm – 3:00am Monday - Thursday ($1.00 shift differential)

Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and assist in the set-up and operation of the packing processes
- Lead and assist in building/assembling wooden crates
- Lead and assist in the execution of work orders on a production basis
- Lead and assist in SAP scanning operations
- Performs work according to Job Instructions (J.I.’s) assigned to the position
- Ensures production, quality and safety standards are met
- Performs cleaning and maintaining of 5’s practices
- Performs other assignments as directed by local supervision

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs repetitively
- Must be good with hand tools (carpentry experienced preferred)
- Must be able to read a tape measure
- SAP scanning experience preferred
- Forklift experience preferred
- Experience in a production environment is preferred
- Ability to perform the essential functions assigned to the position
- Experience reading and utilizing blueprints is preferred
- Understanding of metric measurement systems is preferred
- Must be able to work overtime and on weekends as needed
- The desire and ability to work in a team environment demonstrated through a positive quality, safety, attendance and good work history
