PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Critical Infrastructure support initiative entails the design, installation, customization, testing, and implementation of several enhancements to the Agency's Network, and Data Center infrastructure environments. These infrastructure related updates are crucial for the efficient maintenance and functioning of the network infrastructure, supporting the Network related security controls such as Switches, Firewalls, IDS, IPS, Proxy servers, etc., as well as its security components in the Data Center, Remote sites, as well as external entities (OTI, NYS, etc.)

Required Skills

• Minimum 4 Years Technical expertise in writing optimal T-SQL queries, stored procedures, User defined functions and views. In depth knowledge and hands-on experience developing, deploying, and maintaining complex SSIS packages.
• Minimum 4 Years Through understanding of database maintenance practices, including index management, backup strategies and disk space requirements. Knowledge of Microsoft systems, i.e., Windows 2012, 2019, IIS, SQL Server 2012 and 2014, Access, MS. Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
• Minimum 4 Years Worked in Azure environment like Migration SQL databases from om premise to Azure Cloud. Worked in creating Azure data factories and creating synapse by implementation and configuration. Implemented pipeline creation from Azure synapse to Data verse. Pipeline created between azure synapse to SQL database using data factories.
• Minimum 4 Years Involved in all environments Production and Test and Dev. Having work experience with cluster environment & fail over, fail back activity @ the time of patching. Having work experience on Availability groups creations and fail over, fail back activity.
• Minimum 4 Years Handled Tempdb/Version store is different situations. Worked on replication, Database Mirroring and for high availability solutions.
• Minimum 4 Years Experience in installing, managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting of MS SQL Server 2008R2/2012/2014/2016/2019. SQL Server Security and Object Permissions Management like Maintaining Database authentication modes, creation of users, configuring permissions and assigning roles to users
• Minimum 4 Years Having experience on Moving system & User defined databases data and log files. Moving the backup from one environment to another environment (Database refresh). Creating Maintenance Plans to perform index de-fragmentation, re-indexing and update the index statistics.

Tasks & Duties

• Implement conceptual design to physical database implementation, enhance and refine the logical design of the database.
• Monitors and manages SQL Servers and databases on a day-to-day basis; develops database designs, stored procedures, triggers, and constraints for new applications in MS SQL Server based on client standards.
• Provides day to day advice to users on data structures and terminology and develops policies and procedures related to the support and maintenance of database applications.
• Monitor databases for optimal performance and acts to mitigate blocking and performance tuning issues.
• Provide guidance to Application Development staff for query, stored procedures, functions, and database design.
• Baseline system performance and monitor for deviation, recommending and implementing improvements to slow running queries.
• Document database architecture, configuration settings, baseline performance metrics and planned and unplanned outages.
• Establishes and implements best practices regarding data definition, data quality, data security, and data integration.
• Performs database administration duties, including installation, patching, backup and recovery management, space management, schema management, startup, and shutdown.
