What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fairweather Lodge Coordinator position at Venango Training and Development Center?
We are seeking an individual to fill the position of Fairweather Lodge Coordinator. The person is responsible for the management and oversight of the Fairweather Lodge Program. Responsibilities include the provision of direct rehabilitation and support service to those mental health consumers admitted to the Lodge program, decision making pertaining to the members who participate in Lodge programming, and the organization and management of Lodge structures. This position helps consumers reintegrate themselves into the community by providing emotional support, a safe and clean place to live, assistance in finding employment, and encourages them to become more active and independent in their community.
This position’s hours are primarily day hours, but they may need to be flexible and work evenings & on weekends. This is rare but may happen on occasion. This position is on-call twenty-four hours a day to assist consumers with urgent problems if needed. Again, this is rare, but may happen on occasion.
Although this position is more administrative in nature there may be from time to time situations that may require physical activity. Considering this fact, the physical requirements for this position would include, but would not be limited to the following: Ability to lift up to thirty-five (35) pounds, ability to carry material while maintaining balance, good eye and hand coordination, and good lower back strength. Local travel requires the operation of an automobile. That automobile is provided.
This position requires an Act 34 clearance. A valid PA driver’s license and MVR is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Human Services/Mental Health Discipline and one year of experience working directly with people with a mental health diagnosis is preferred. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and organization skills are desired. Applicant must be knowledgeable in a wide scope of activities to enable this person to be flexible in the service they provide for participants.
The rate of pay is $16.67/hr to start and 4% increase after 90 days taking it to $17.33.. At 6 month's completion, a $500 sign on bonus will be given. Veterans are encouraged to apply.
