What are the responsibilities and job description for the Janitorial position at Venango Training and Development Center?
Definition: This part time position is responsible for cleaning buildings, removing debris, and keeping areas neat and tidy. Vacuums floors, empties trash receptacles, and replace lining of trash cans.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires lifting, reaching, bending, and remaining on ones feet for long periods of time. Considering these duties, the physical requirements would include, but may not be limited to, the following:
Ability to lift material up to thirty (30) pounds, ability to lift and maintain balance, good eye/hand coordination, proper hand, arm, and leg motion, and good leg and lower back strength.
Qualifications:
This position requires the ability to pass a criminal background check, and may require passing state police fingerprinting, along with a High School Diploma/equivalent and one year of janitorial experience. A valid Pennsylvania’s Driver’s License is required.
Specific duties would include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Ability to manage your time efficiently
- Work well when supervisors are not present.
- Able to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies
- Able to use basic cleaning equipment.
- Sweep and mop floors
- Clean buildings by emptying trash, sweeping, and cleaning surfaces.
- Clean and disinfect laboratory equipment.
- Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
- Use cleaning solutions to remove stains and clean surfaces.
- Mix various cleaning agents.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees
- Dust furniture and scrub surfaces clean.
- Clean and service restrooms with mops and disinfectants.
- Identify and report possible repairs
